Job Advert An exciting and new opportunity has become available for an experienced Security Controller. Our ideal candidate will be based in our Support Office in George. The successful candidate will be responsible alarm reporting and ensuring smooth operations on branch level concerning alarm systems, EAS (Electronic Article Surveillance) systems and general security procedures. He / She must also maintain an adequate system of record keeping and ensure the general compliance of personnel with Tekkie Town policies and procedures concerning any and all safety and security aspects. Our ideal candidate must be self-motivated, positive, and passionate about performance, a resilient individual who can think laterally and who has strong analytical abilities. Qualifications * Matric Certificate * PSIRA Grade C Certificate. Knowledge, Skills and Experience * Strong data processing accuracy and speed * Good attention to detail * Fluent in English and Afrikaans (Speak, read and write) * A strong logical thinking and analytical ability with excellent numerical skills and the ability to be accurate and pay attention to detail. * Has a high energy level and is performance-driven and deadline-orientated. * Excellent planning, organizing and time management skills. * Ability to remain flexible, function under pressure and maintain a positive attitude and work performance in a variety of circumstances. * Ability to multi-task and to deal with complexities, use initiative to solve problems. * Ability to work independently, as well as be a team player. Key Responsibilities * Checking of false alarms and panics and follow -up. * Clearing of watch manager ‘stack’ * Checking for low batteries signals and replacement thereof. * Listing opening and closing times and identifying late openings/closings and establishing reasons for late openings and closing. * Communicate issues with Area Sales Manager and Risk Manager * Follow-up daily on alarm incidents reported from alarm monitoring service provider and follow-through to give full feedback that will also be referred to for future reverence * Co-ordination between alarm monitoring service providers and branches/ Area Sales Managers * Basic trouble shooting and booking of technicians to branches where trouble shooting has failed * Loading / Removal of new alarm codes on system, and coordination of new alarm systems in new branches * General programming of Wintex, MTC and Watch Manager Systems * Placing of guards and obtaining quotes (Where there is power-outages or any other issue that may need a guard to be placed at Company premises) * Administer Cash in Transfer process * Update of key holder sheet * General Filing Duties * Key holder and inspections duties for Support Office and Distribution Centre buildings.
