Abzena is now seeking a highly motivated and driven individual to take responsibility for day to day laboratory support activities that help the laboratory teams run effectively and efficiently. Preparation of reagents and media for scientific experiments Performing calibration and service of instruments Maintaining working levels of consumables and reagents in the labs Ordering and receipt of goods Ensuring that lab ware is clean and available Dealing with engineers’ visits and decontamination certificates Provision of a laboratory waste management service Daily checks of fridges, freezers and incubators and assist with environmental monitoring Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Working to concepts and practices of Abzena’s lab health and safety policies Desired skills Good IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Personal qualities Committed team player with proactive attitude Good verbal communication: Clarity of speech, remaining calm and focused, being polite and following the basic rules of etiquette A confident and mature approach A passion for scientific research and development Keen and willingness to learn Desire to work towards a Level 3 BTEC in Applied Science Future prospects There may be the opportunity to progress onto a permanent role and continue with your education.
