Manager - Office of Data Protection - (2000000D) Description Operational responsibilities Contribute to the development and delivery of the ODP’s regulatory strategy, plans and priorities. Develop, plan and deliver targeted data protection education campaigns for various cohorts of Data Controllers in ADGM. Prepare and publish innovative data protection guidance for ADGM Data Controllers. Carry out monitoring activities, including managment meetings, thematic reviews and assessments on Data Controllers on a risk based approach. Receive, assess and action data breach reports and data subject complaints. Review data protection filings including appointment and cessation of Data Processors and Data Protection Officers. Maintain the register of Data Controllers. Set, track, follow up and provide internal managment reporting on Data Controllers in relation to filings, data breaches, remediation plans, regulatory actions and other ODP operations. Deliver appropriate and timely data protection supervisory assessments and recommendations to the Director, ODP. Manage and where appropriate, propose enhancements to the data protection register and system functionality. Support the design and delivery of new and on-going ODP projects. Work closely with the RA Monitoring & Enforcement function on data protection matters related to non-financial and retail firms. Work closely with the Financial Services Regulatory Authority on data protection matters involving financial services firms. Support the Director, ODP in carrying out local, regional and international engagement, working groups, bi-lateral agreements, information sharing and collaboration with other government authorities, DPAs and any other relevant stakeholders. Maintain and where appropriate improve the internal processes and procedures of ODP Information Security related Understand, adopt, adhere and practice responsibilities or controls as per ADGM Information Security policy and as per best practices explained in the induction and awareness sessions. Confidentiality, Integrity and availability of the ADGM Information shall be maintained at all times i.e. within as well as outside ADGM. Qualifications Education A Bachelor degree in a legal, privacy or related field. Work Experience A minimum 8-10 years’ post graduate experience in legal, compliance or regulation, with a minimum 4 years’ in data protection or privacy related roles. Understanding of the public interest role of regulatory bodies. Knowledge of regulatory / supervisory policies and frameworks. Knowledge in firm risk assessment and identifying required action. Analytical, problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to make sound decisions, based on good judgement, analysis and evidence that are well documented. Internal and external stakeholder management skills.
