Job Summary The PP Referral/Scheduling Coordinator will ensure the effective management of all outgoing referrals, as well as scheduling outpatient radioloical exams and surgeries for Practices. Is responsible for answering and directing phone calls received at the Practice, utilizing excellent telephone etiquette and customer service skills. Checks clinic voice mail, maintains files in an up-to-date manner ensuring ease of retrieval. Greets and answers questions from the public; may take requests for medication refills and perform other general medical office duties. This position requires a strong patient centered focus. Effective verbal and written communication skills as well as a teamwork orientation. Position must be organized and able to manage competing priorities and take accountability for delegated tasks. The Referral/Scheduling Coordinator must exercise good judgment, resourcefulness in problem solving and the ability to take and follow through with tasks. Job Requirements Minimum Education Requirement Must be a high school graduate or have a GED Diploma. Minimum Experience Requirement Minimum of one year recent prior experience in scheduling and/or referrals in a physician practice or medical setting required. Minimum License Requirement None Physical Requirement/Working Conditions This position requires extensive sitting and the ability to hear within normal range to take phone messages. The ability to use a keyboard and input into a data system.
