Summary: Responsible for the overall operational and strategic direction, administration and coordination of all activities within the Finance division. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Hire, train, develop, measure performance, and discipline of division?s leadership staff Develop, implement, execute, and achieve long and short-term divisional business strategies Formulate and operate within annual marketing plan, operating budget, and capital budget to accomplish goals and objectives Conduct ongoing analysis of financial reports to monitor the profitiablity and expenses of the property and take appropriate action by creating and implementing strategies and tactics to reduce cost and/or increase revenue Develop and implement staffing plans that provide divisional leadership appropriate labor to meet guest service and operational expectations Reviews all monthly closing journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations Responsible for the accuracy of the monthly financial statements and the budget Accounting point of contact for other departments Coordinates and oversees property wide gaming compliance Provide outstanding customer service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow team members Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Accounting preferred. At least five (5) years of experience as a controller of a resort/casino. Certified Public Accountant strongly preferred but may be offset by advanced education or experiential exposures. Ability to qualify for a key employee license from the State of Nevada Gaming Commission and Gaming Control Board Strong computer skills with knowledge of Excel, Word, Great Plains, CMS, SDS, LMS and MMS Strong knowledge of gaming regulations Strong knowledge of currency transaction and suspicious activity reporting Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company Verify right to work in the United States Work Cards Gaming Alcohol Awareness Food Handler Physical Requirements Frequently required to stand and sit Use hands to hold tools and/or equipment required for position Reach with hands and arms Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop or kneel. Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment Potential Conditions The work environment is characterized as an office setting, where computers and standard office equipment will be supplied and used as a part of the job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The immediate work environment is smoke free; however a smoking environment does exist in the building.
