Role Summary Technology & Innovation (T&I) is seeking suitably experienced applicants to be considered for Team Member roles in ICT Support (Service Desk) and Team Member roles in Desktop & Mobility Support at national locations within the Australian Federal Police (AFP). T&I provide critical integrated, secure and effective information and communications systems and services to the AFP. T&I supports the management of the AFP appointees, resources and business activities. This work may include: Providing and maintaining secure and effective information systems and networks (nationally and internationally) to deliver information at the right time and in the right format to serve operational and management requirements; Supplying advice, services, and work-products to business areas seeking to improve or enhance their business processes; Exercise understanding of AFP core business and understanding of where business area fits within the AFP; Maintaining currency in subject matter expertise through ongoing professional development and learning opportunities outside the formal education process. As a Team Member in the AFP you will also be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments. It is expected that the successful applicant will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below Role Description & Responsibilities These roles are responsible for providing high quality services and technical advice and support for a team of professionals within an AFP business area. The roles will also work closely with stakeholders to ensure AFP systems serve the strategic and operational needs of the AFP. The successful applicants will be a highly motivated individual who is able to work effectively in a busy and demanding environment. You will also be responsible for assisting with request and incident management, requiring sound technical skills and relevant experience to: receive and process incident management requests through to resolution (when required) use service and request management tools (for ticketing and job queue management) show a dedication to service delivery excellence through an ongoing commitment to improving the support teams. produce and update Support Documentation troubleshoot reported hardware, software and application issues (Windows 10, Desktop, Microsoft systems and applications) and utilise tools including Windows, Active Directory, SCCM, MS Office and Exchange SFIA (v.7) skills relevant to this role: Customer service support: Level 3 Applications Support – Level 3 Incident Management – Level 3 IT Infrastructure – Level 2 Network Support – Level 2 Essential Requirements A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one. Has contemporary knowledge and experience relevant to the role. Minimum of 1 years’ experience in a like or related field. Relevant qualification or extensive experience and knowledge in area of expertise. Formal IT qualifications from a recognised tertiary institution or extensive demonstrated equivalent skills and experience. Knowledge of Windows 10 desktop administration. Microsoft systems and tools (including Windows, Active Directory, SCCM, MS Office and Exchange) Communication skills to be able to liaise with Business Users. Problem solving skills to be able to investigate and resolve user issues.
