Great News! We're seeking an Electromechanical Field Specialist to join the DSS Canada team. Job Summary As an Electromechanical Field Specialist, you'll assist our Sales team to evaluate sites and End User locations to define the access control solutions requirements, as well as provide after sales support by troubleshooting customer issues over the phone or on site. Using your advanced technical knowledge, you'll review the proposal and bid documents, and create the required Bill of Material for channel partners. You'll also be responsible to assess our Integration Partners' training needs and facilitate training to them as part of our certification program. This role reports to the Senior Director of Integrated Solutions, Canada. Key Responsibilities Be the product expert in applications, technology, installation, and deployment of all of our EAC offerings Troubleshoot EAC product-related issues and make them operational, preferably in collaboration with the Integrator; clearly articulate the root cause and resolution to the stakeholders, including channel Partners, End Users, and General Contractors; report findings back to our ASSA ABLOY factories Test and inspect system installations, and work with our factories to support those installations Present and demonstrate our EAC offerings to our customers; understand advantages and disadvantages versus competitors' offerings Develop and elevate our EAC team's understanding and competency in our products and solutions so they are able to represent them to their respective stakeholders Collaborate with our Sales Specialists to attend meetings with building owners, channel specialists, Distributors, and as well as integrators and EAC OEM partners As part of the Solutions team, you'll be the technical expert when presenting to the relevant decisions makers Walk through client facilities, identify device locations, telecommunication spaces, document building construction/field conditions and discuss hazardous materials Assist the channel with EAC product selection via site walks or by viewing photos of the opening Review RFP and bid documents and create required Bill of Materials for channel partners Work directly with End User stakeholders such as Facility Managers, IT Managers to gain a deeper level of technical insight on projects and discuss the solutions that fit their needs Provide product and solution feedback to the EAC team Maintain product demos to ensure good operation and appearance Provide End User training on our technology Coordinate proof of concept installations Transport a variety of items (e.g. tools, equipment, supplies, etc.) to ensure you have materials required at job site Perform other responsibilities as required Education and Experience Related college diploma or technical certificate 2+ years' experience in field support with electronic access control products and systems Experience with Genetec, Lenel, S2, Software House an asset Key Competencies Self-starter with strong technical and solution sales aptitude Proven record of accomplishment of effectively working with diverse influencers and decision makers in a team-selling environment Excellent presentation and closing skills Ability to manage time effectively; remain highly organized while managing multiple tasks Strong follow-up skills Ability to read blueprints, architectural, mechanical, and electrical documents Ability to use test equipment such as multi-meter, signal tone generator, oscilloscope, time-domain reflectometer Physical Demands and Working Conditions Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs of product and tools Ability to travel in within the assigned territory up to 90% of the time Ability to travel across Canada and occasionally into the U.S. (for training & trade shows) Work from ladders and scaffolds or at heights above 30 feet Ability to safely use hand and power tools Ability to hear horn and/or warning devices at a distance of 30 yards Perform tasks requiring, bending, stooping, kneeling, standing and walking significant distances Visual ability (uncorrected or corrected) to observe and detect signs of dangerous obstacles at a distance of 30 yards and to verify written information at a close range Valid drivers' license in good standing Our Benefits Employer-paid Benefit plan Competitive Retirement plan Ongoing training and development Company-provided vehicle ASSA ABLOY welcomes and encourages applications from people with disabilities.
