Position Summary: Assists Engineers with incorporation of customer requirements and specifications, design, redesign and development of existing and current military vehicles, subassemblies, detailed parts and fixtures working under general direction. Interfaces with product design, prototype parts fabrication, vehicle build-up, test, ongoing development engineering and follow-up of initial and post production in the plant. Responsibilities: Assists in establishing design parameters to achieve most cost-effective approach consistent with the end item of specifications, performance and reliability objectives. Ensures that the product meets Federal, State, and local regulations as well as international homologation requirements for such items as safety and emission standards. Establishes designs through calculations, analysis and various design verification techniques. Determines test requirements. Oversees or may assist in set-up/monitoring of a testing program. Analyzes, evaluates and reports test results to determine acceptability or needed modifications in meeting specifications. Other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills and Experience: Working toward a BSME degree Microsoft Office SAP Knowledge Basic Teamcenter Problem solving, collaboration and multi-tasking skills 2D Drawings and 3D CAD a plus Physical Effort: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus. Working Conditions: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routine uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers/scanning, fax machines, and file cabinets. Time may also be spent in a shop environment.
