Currently, the company is executing metro projects in several Indian cities including Chennai, Kochi and Lucknow where it is supplying Rolling Stock manufactured out its state of the art facility at SriCity in Andhra Pradesh. In the Mainline space, Alstom is executing Signaling & Power Supply Systems for the 343 Km. section on World Bank funded Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor. Today, Alstom in India employs close to 3600 people and in line with Government of India’s ‘Make in India’ policy initiative, Alstom has been investing heavily in the country in producing world class rolling stock, components, design, research and development to not only serve the domestic market, but also rest of the world. www.alstom.com/ India Purpose of the job: The “IS&T Finance Controller” position based in Bangalore, reporting to the Group IS&T Finance Controller based in Saint Ouen headquarter, will have three main pillars: Be the preferred controller for all IS&T running services & projects delivered all over the world on following domains: infrastructure, workplace & collaboration, security and support. Control Alstom India HQ perimeter (IT, FSSC, HR…) Promote and improve new ways of working around Data You are expected to play an active role to support the IS&T function: pro-active, flexible, innovative, close to your Business needs. Key accountabilities: IS&T Controller for IT Infrastructure, workplace & collaboration, security and support Alstom IS&T implements a full range of services & solutions which need to be strictly controlled, considering budgeted amounts, resources involved and business impacts. You will control the overall services, solutions and project roadmaps on your domain of responsibilities, measuring and alerting when relevant on financial impacts: commitments vs budgeted roadmap, external vs internal costs follow-up, actuals, estimated at completion review on major programs and critical projects, etc. As such, your contribution will be key to measure saving plan, projects’ QCD, capacity analysis, on shore / off shore effort, internalization business case etc. This scope represents a total yearly spend of c.110m euro globally, with a majority of spend incurred in France & India headquarters. Your active and regular interfaces with the Technology & Security and Service Performance and User Support VPs, IS&T Directors, Budget owners, the PMO team & Project managers’ community will be critical. As their Finance counterpart, you will be the Guardian of the rules for all Finance related topics. The position requires a global ownership and exposure including some interaction also with local Finance Controllers. Report and Control IS&T HQ France & HQ India activities and overall India HQ The job will include two major scopes: IS&T for both India and France headquarter related spend on the domain of responsibility (IT Infrastructure, workplace & collaboration, security and support). Overall India headquarter which includes on top of the IS&T, some other departments / Shared Services notably in the Finance & accounting area as well as HR. You will control the above entire scope, incl. activity tracking, external costs and PO follow-up, IT assets finance impacts, projects milestones, etc. and be responsible for the monthly closing related to IT activities within those entities. As India controller, you will monitor and report on a timely basis key KPIs such as P&L & cash impacts, headcounts follow-up, costs tracker per service or Department, costs engaged, etc… and comply with the support of accounting & tax specialists with statutory local requirements. Promotion and improvement of new ways of working around Data Considering (i) the high interdependencies in IS&T topics (both on projects and services, inside and outside the IS&T function), (ii) the criticality of the services delivered for the organization and (iii) huge volume of data we are to control / manage, the IS&T controlling has built a “Data to action” model and works daily in an agile way to ease operational ownership and rapid decision making. Data driven we leverage on a Business Intelligence tool allowing us to play on a dedicated Data Warehouse mixing operational data (IT assets, software accesses…) with Finance data (ERP driven actuals, Project management tool, Agile collaborative platform…). This single point of truth allows us to work more efficiently with IT operational and work together with same data. The collective challenge consists in continuing to improve and leverage our Data Warehouse to support our IT operational to deliver efficiency and support our Alstom In Motion strategy. Educational Requirements Chartered Accountant (preferable 1st attempt) You have an Academic background in Finance or Business Administration with a [6 to 12] years’ experience of controlling activities in an industrial company, in IT Controlling is a plus. Autonomous, pro-active, result and deadline driven. Flexible, able to continuously improve and apply with the Finance Team a new Controlling scheme and push for innovative ideas.
