About the Position ALS are in the final stages of fitting out a new Pharmaceutical Chemistry building in Clonmel to add to the current Pharmaceutical Microbiology offering. The new Pharmaceutical Chemistry Laboratory will provide contract testing of finished products to cGMP. Reporting to the Pharmaceutical Chemistry Laboratory Manager, the Pharmaceutical Analyst will use their knowledge of analytical techniques and cGMP to analyse samples in a timely manner and assist in troubleshooting and resolving any issues that may arise. This position is permanent and full-time and will be based in Clonmel. Responsibilities Perform chemical and physical laboratory testing in a timely manner Participate in the introduction of new techniques including method transfers and their related protocols and reports Ensure work conforms to data integrity requirements and is in compliance with company SOPs and specifications Review other analysts’ work to ensure compliance with company procedures Write/revise SOPs and other laboratory documents such as deviations, change controld etc., as required Comply with all company safety standards, good house keeping practises and quality requirements Assist in customer and regulatory inspections as required Perform sample management activites Participate in Out of Specification and root cause analyses investigations Carry out and assist in the on-going training of new and existing personnel, as appropriate, ensuring required documentation is generated Indentify any opportunities for continuous improvement in laboratory efficiency and quality Perform all other team tasks, as agreed, to support the running of the laboratory About you The minimum requirements for this position are: A scientific background (degree level) where analytical skills can be used for problem solving A minimum of one year’s experience in a pharmaceutical laboratory (or equivalent) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and clients’ needs Good computer literacy skills High level of reporting and writing skills Excellent organisational skills and a strong team player with the ability to multi-task High attention to detail and a methodical approach To be successful in this role you will have experience in a number of the following: HPLC GC Karl Fischer UV spectrophotometry Dissolution testing Pharmacopoeial wet chemical testing IR spectrophotometry Regulatory audits Equipment maintenance and qualification Data review This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and skilled person looking to develop their career with an international company.
