Manufacturer Technician - Calgary Department: Service Job Status: Full Time FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Reports To: Steve Grueber – Regional Manager Amount of Travel Required: 50-75% Work Schedule: M-F; 40 hours; weekends rare; day shift Positions Supervised: None POSITION SUMMARY Supports customers, service partners and co-workers with technical expertise regarding Aerzen equipment. Fields requests, diagnoses needs, provides recommendations and options, processes quotes and orders as needed, and provides direction and follow-up to ensure customer needs are met. Disassemble and evaluate incoming blowers and compressors, diagnose and recommend action, complete machine repairs, prepare reports and communicate actions as needed. Provide evaluation, maintenance, and repair services for blowers and compressor packages at customer worksites located throughout Canada and occasionally internationally. Essential Functions Statement(s) · Respond to technical support inquiries regarding the parts, equipment, and services provided by Aerzen Canada. Includes troubleshooting, presenting options, making recommendations, and directing customers in a way that will best meet both the customers' and the company's needs. · Ensure that technically accurate and complete quotes, orders, and service item cards are created and recorded via the operating system in a timely manner; whether by the customer support specialist or by you. · Provide technical support and training to service partners and service technicians to ensure all are operating with accurate and complete technical data. · Pro-actively communicate with customers and service partners throughout the order process and as needed regarding technical issues, order status, and service reports · Serve as a resource to co-workers in technical matters and as back-up support. · Tear down and evaluate incoming equipment to assess damage, diagnose cause of damage and recommend further actions needed for repair · Complete repairs of blowers and compressors according to Aerzen repair guidelines. · Record results of evaluation, diagnosis, repair process, and inspection · Read, understand and use mechanical drawings, specifications, diagrams, etc. · Coordinate use of sub-vendors as needed · Maintain inventory stock and establish restocking requirements as needed · Coordinate shipping to and from customers and vendors with proper communication to the shipping coordinator. · Inspect, evaluate and repair equipment at customer's location using best practices for root cause analysis and quality service provision. · Evaluate customer future needs and communicate information through appropriate channels · Plan and schedule travel to best meet customer requirement, service schedule requirement, time efficiency, and cost efficiency. · Complete job-related reports and forms on a timely basis POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Competency Statement(s) Attention to Communication - Ensuring that information is passed to others who should be kept informed. Other Requirements – Work experience should be in mechanical repair of automotive or rotating equipment. – Forklift truck driving experience, preferred. – Class 5 Driver’s license, required.
