Job title: Systems and Network Administrator Work Location: Montreal Department: Information Technology Reports to: IT Manager Job Description: Key Skills: - Switching & Routing - Firewall Management - Linux Essential Duties and Responsibilities: · Participate in the research, design, planning and coordination of server infrastructure upgrades, enhancements and improvements. · Participate in operational and business critical projects through scoping, planning, execution, and implementation. · Monitor a wide variety of information and network systems that include, telecommunications circuits, LAN/WAN systems, routers, switches, firewalls, servers, storage, backup, operating systems and core applications. · Participate in the research, design, planning and coordination of networking infrastructure installation, configuration, upgrades, maintenance. · Prepare and maintain detailed documentation and server infrastructure policies, standards and diagrams. Daily Basis tasks: · In-depth understanding of Linux, Windows, MacOS systems · Significant Linux experience required, CentOS or RHEL v5 and v6 experience is strongly preferred. · Install, maintain and trouble-shoot Linux, Windows, Apache, IIs, Exchange, SendMail, Bind, MySQL, PostgreSQL, C-Panel. · Good knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, SSH, RAID, SMTP, VPN, Firewalls, and load balancing, and clustering technologies · Knowledge of Apache with SSL, Tomcat & MySQL, virtualization technologies (KVM, Hyper-V, VMware), monitoring systems (Zabbix). · Experience with SAN and NAS environments, supporting heterogeneous platforms. Thorough understanding of NFS, CIFS, SMB, EXT3, EXT4, HFS+, and NTFS required. Automation & integration: Strong experience with scripting to perform administrative functions Linux shell (BASH) scripting required Windows CMD scripts required. PowerShell experience preferred. Python scripting experience preferred. Requirements: About you: 3-5 years of experience as a network administrator. Bilingual (English and French). Enthusiastic about working in a dynamic environment. Good interpersonal skills. Ability to adapt quickly to change. Results-oriented. Willing to work occasional shifts after-hours and weekends, as required. Technical Requirements: CCNA Certification - Required Script/automatic execution with PowerShell/Batch. Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Radius. Experience working with VPN technologies (SSL VPN, IPSEC). Good knowledge of VPN technologies (IPSEC, SSL, SDWAN). Solid understanding of switching and routing protocols including STP, VTP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS. Wireless networks. VoIP & PBX. SonicWALL, Checkpoint and Palo Alto firewall and Cisco switches.
