The Agritech & Aquaculture Horizontal Technology Centre (A2HTC) develops & implements strategies to strengthen participation of our Science & Engineering Research Council (SERC) and Biomedical Research Council (BMRC) Research Institutes with the Industry (including Agrifood Accelerators, Venture Capital firms, Companies, SMEs & Start-ups) to drive innovations in Agriculture & Aquaculture technologies. To enable successful co-development of Agriculture & Aquaculture technologies with Industry, A2HTC will be taking a multi-disciplinary approach to pull together expertise from various domains (including plant sciences, aquaculture sciences, nutrition, engineering & manufacturing capabilities, robotics, automation, materials & chemicals) to address challenges of food security, sustainability & food safety. A2HTC would contribute towards generation of economic gains & high value-added jobs in our fast growing Agriculture & Aquaculture sectors. Responsibilities The officer will be responsible for synergising R&D, innovation plans and initiatives with the Science and Engineering Research Council and Biomedical Research Council. The officer will also assist the Centre Leads in programme conceptualisation and execution of integrative programmes. This role includes, but is not limited to, Design programmes to achieve the desired outcomes by: Pulling together complementary capabilities from the research ecosystem namely the Science and Engineering Research Council and Biomedical Research Council entities; Developing strategies for industry involvement; Obtaining support and resources to support the programme; Organising activities and resources required to effect translation. Work with relevant ministries, public agencies and industry partners to conceptualize and initiate programmes, build partnerships for sharing, exchange of information; Administer the programmes, including knowledge management, budget management, document controls, tracking of deliverables and outcomes, scheduling and conduct of progress reviews; Ensure programme milestones/goals are met and adhered to; and report achievements to A*STAR senior management and key stakeholder platforms; Make recommendations on future programmes based on emerging trends and competitive opportunities. Requirements Related background in a Science or an Engineering related discipline, preferably with minimum 3 years of relevant work experience; Possess strong analytical thinking skills and abilities to learn fast; Results oriented, pro-active, and a team player; Resourceful, with astute planning and analytical skills; Organised, quality conscious, attentive to details and results-oriented; Strong communication and interpersonal skills; Adaptable, comfortable working in a fast-paced and fast-changing environment The above eligibility criteria are not exhaustive.
